Jean Sibelius (8 December 1865 – 20 September 1957) was a Finnish
composer of the later Romantic period whose music played an important
role in the formation of the Finnish national identity. His mastery of
the orchestra has been described as "prodigious."
Robert Schumann, sometimes known as Robert Alexander Schumann, (8
June 1810 – 29 July 1856) was a German composer, aesthete and
influential music critic. He is regarded as one of the greatest and most
representative composers of the Romantic era.
